Audi RS7 Avant Spy Shots: High-Performance Wagon Launching Soon

Audi’s high-performance wagon, the RS7 Avant, has been spotted undergoing test drives in a camouflaged state as it prepares for its debut as a new model.

On the 20th (local time), foreign media released spy shots of the Audi RS7 Avant and highlighted some key changes.

So far, Audi has offered the RS6 Avant as its high-performance wagon model, but the new model will be replacing the RS6 with the RS7.

The RS7 Avant, spotted during testing on roads near the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany, is undergoing performance tests to compete with rivals such as the BMW M5 Touring.

The prototype test car hints at a redesigned front end, featuring a large single-frame grille and multiple air intakes. The headlights appear smaller than those on the previous model, and they include integrated LED daytime running lights.

As with the previous RS6 Avant, the new model has much wider wheel arches compared to the standard A7. The wheels are finished in black with a multi-spoke design, and although not clearly visible in the photos, a large brake set is installed.

At the rear, there are two oval-shaped tailpipes and new tail lamps featuring a full-width light bar.

Details about the RS7 Avant’s powertrain have not been disclosed yet, but following the trend towards electrification, it is likely to feature a plug-in hybrid V8 system. This would significantly boost the output to around 700 horsepower or more.

The Audi RS7 Avant is expected to be released at the end of 2025.
